Melbourne Aquarium is open from 9.30am until 6.00pm daily. We are open every day of the year including public holidays. Last admissions are 1 hour prior to closing times. We recommend approximately 2 to 2.5 hours for your exciting journey through!
Melbourne Aquarium provides people in wheelchairs full access to all exhibits. Each floor of the aquarium is accessible via either a lift or ramp. Each level also has wheelchair accessible toilets.

- Shark Walker allows visitors to walk underwater, surrounded by sharks, giant stingrays and hundreds of fish, without getting their hair wet or even taking their glasses off! Visitors can experience the thrill of an underwater dive in the aquarium’s 2.2 million litre Oceanarium, while breathing naturally, with a custom-made Shark Walker helmet. The 45 minute experience does not require a diving license and is perfect for the non-diver. Age and medical conditions apply. Dive with fully qualified instructors. Suitable for those 14 years of age and over. 7 dive sessions per day from Friday - Monday. All equipment supplied. Shark Walker is an extra cost of $150.00 per person.

Journey from River to Reef and engage with freshwater animals such as turtles, frogs, snakes and eels before discovering stunning sea jellies and a colourful tropical collection in the Coral Atoll. Sharks Alive will take you on an unforgettable journey down into the deep blue of the awe-inspiring Southern Ocean in Melbourne Aquarium’s 2.2 million litre Oceanarium! The 100-square meter Fish Bowl viewing area allows you to feel as though you are underwater with intimidating sharks, massive stingrays, turtles and hundreds of fish swimming overhead.
Those feelings brave enough can dive in at the deep end with a Shark Dive or Shark Walker experience. The all new Shark Walker is perfect for the non-diver allowing visitors to walk underwater without getting their hair wet using a custom-made Shark Walker helmet.
With thousands of aquatic animals and daily animal feeding shows there is always something new to sea at Melbourne Aquarium!
